By: Renata Bursten, Dragonfly Staff

Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who have disabilities are entitled to early intervention and special education. Find out how to access your local resources!

This Parent's Guide from NICHCY answers questions about accessing early intervention services for infants and toddlers (birth through 2 years), and includes information on how to identify programs within your state, and how to identify and access special education programs for preschoolers with disabilities (ages 3-5). Topics covered include services for rural, Native American, adoptive/foster, and military families and their young children with disabilities. Also available in Spanish.

Spring-a-ling! Bringing Two Hands Together

Perfect for children with fine motor delays and mild Cerebral Palsy. Encourage children to use two hands together. Try first simply shaking the toy. Finally, have the child hold the Spring-a-ling with one hand, and slide the beads with the fingers of the other hand. Take it on long car rides, or for waiting rooms!
